Hiring Choices
At Triumph, we strive to create positive hiring experiences for employers and people with disabilities.
If you're interested in gaining valuable employees, building your team and promoting an inclusive workplace, we have clients looking for the following types of placements:
Full- and Part-Time Paid Employment
Do you have a position available? Paid employment is a viable option for a number of our clients. We'll tailor the hiring process to meet your needs and match a candidate to the skills, abilities and personality traits that your business requires.
To ensure the long-term success of your employment match, we support our clients on the job through the training process and provide follow-up to both you and your new employee. Should the job description change or if the client receives a promotion, we will provide re-training and further assessments if necessary.
Job Carving
Employers sometimes have employees who would do well to move into more experienced positions. That can free up entry-level positions for new employees. At Triumph, we can help employers sort through this process to make room for new employees. It's a benefit to many of our entry-level clients and it's a benefit to employers who want to ensure their employees are using their skills in the right place at the right time.
Job Shadowing
When clients are interested in learning more about what a particular job or career entails, job shadowing - observing without actively working - is a great option. It allows clients to spend the workday following someone on the job as they perform the required duties for their position. Job shadowing is a great tool for increasing career awareness, learning about the skills-set required for a job and identifying what steps need to be taken to achieve the desired position.
Job Sharing
Typically, a job share consists of two employees sharing the responsibilities of one position. A situation such as this often arises when two employees wish to cut back their hours due to family responsibilities, health, injury, disability, pregnancy or for educational pursuits. A job share can also consist of one employee completing a set of specific tasks for the job while the other takes on the remaining components.
Mentorship
Mentorship provides a valuable opportunity for clients to explore occupational choices. Clients develop important skills and enhance their employability by partnering with someone who is highly successful in a field that interests them. As role models, mentors provide advice, guidance, support and encouragement.
Work Experience
During a work experience, clients are involved in training and the day-to-day responsibilities of a job, but the work is unpaid and time-limited. This is an effective way for clients to build their skills and for employers to determine if the employment match is a good fit for the company.
Volunteering
Are you looking for a volunteer to help out in your non-profit organization?
Volunteering is a great way for our clients to explore their vocational choices and contribute to the community. It can also be a stepping stone to employment. Clients may wish to volunteer for short a period of time or make a long-term volunteer commitment. Triumph volunteer placements are at least three hours per week for a minimum of two weeks.
