In order to meet your needs, we create opportunities for a wide range of paid and volunteer placements in the workforce.

We'll support you as much or as little as you require while you build your vocational experience. Whether you'd like us to accompany you to the workplace or help you make a great first impression, we'll be there every step of the way.

Full- and Part-Time Paid Employment
If you're interested in paid employment, we will support you on the job through the training process and provide follow-up to both you and your employer. Should your job description change or if you receive a promotion, we will provide re-training and further assessments if necessary.

Job Carving
Job carving involves identifying your job-related strengths and carving out a niche position that reflects your skills and fulfills an employer’s needs. Job carving may involve completing entry-level tasks for higher-salaried staff or a job share between individuals who bring different skill sets to the job. Common examples of job carving in an office setting include hiring an individual to assist with administrative tasks such a mailouts, photocopying, shredding and data entry.

 
Job Shadowing
When you're interested in learning more about what a particular job or career entails, job shadowing - observing without actively working - is a great option. It allows you to spend the workday following someone on the job as they perform the required duties for their position. Job shadowing is a great tool for increasing career awareness, learning about the skills-set required for a job and identifying what steps need to be taken to achieve the desired position.

Job Sharing
Typically, a job share consists of two employees sharing the responsibilities of one position. A situation such as this often arises when two employees wish to cut back their hours due to family responsibilities, health, injury, disability, pregnancy or for educational pursuits. A job share can also consist of one employee completing a set of specific tasks for the job while the other takes on the remaining components.

Mentorship
Mentorship provides a valuable opportunity to explore occupational choices. It allows you to partner with someone who is highly successful in a field that interests you so you can learn from them. Your mentor becomes a role model who provides advice, guidance, support and encouragement in reaching your goals.

Work Experience
During a work experience, you're involved in training and the day-to-day responsibilities of a job, but the work is unpaid and time-limited. This is an effective way for you to build your skills and determine if the job is right for you.

Volunteering
Volunteering is a great way to explore your vocational choices and contribute to the community. It can also be a stepping stone to employment. You may wish to volunteer for short a period of time or make a long-term volunteer commitment. Triumph volunteer placements are at least three hours per week for a minimum of two weeks.
