Triumph Vocational Services Employer Puts People First A Triumph Vocational Services™ Success Story • February, 2005 Berlyann, a McDonald’s Manager, had a wonderful experience with Triumph Vocational Services. She openly admits that she didn’t expect the work experience process to go as well as it did. She’d gone through the process before with other service organizations, but this one was easy.Triumph Job Developer Birgit was not just concerned about finding the right workplace for her client; she also wanted to find the right candidate for McDonald’s. She thoroughly screened her client, and Berlyann, to ensure there was a good fit between employer and employee. Birgit “didn’t try to convince me” that Mike was a great candidate, Berlyann said, and, “She didn’t make excuses for him.” She explained everything clearly and professionally. The only accommodation Birgit requested of Berlyann was to explain everything to Mike in layman’s terms. McDonald’s “believes in helping people be successful in their jobs,” Berlyann said. Birgit knew McDonald’s was the right place for Mike. After the pre-screening, Berlyann and Birgit set up a work experience plan for Mike. After only 12 hours over three days, Berlyann felt Mike’s positive attitude and great sense of humour were assets to McDonald’s, and hired him. “Birgit chose the perfect candidate for McDonald’s. Mike loves his job,” Berlyann said, and he “never complains.” That has a positive effect on everyone around him. Receiving compliments for his good work, meeting new people, and making new friends seems to have helped Mike’s self-confidence and self-esteem, Berlyann adds. Berlyann found the Triumph process straight forward and is “prepared for future Triumph candidates.” “McDonald's believes in helping people be successful in their jobs.” Success on your own terms |
